The images you see on this site were recorded mostly on 6x6 medium and 4x5 large format film cameras. More recently I have used digital capture. There are a few early 35mm images but I no longer use the small film format since it is not appropriate to my choice of subject matter. I like the squat, assuring solidity of the square or 4 x 5 formats (strangely, I also favor the panoramic format).
My black and white images are hand printed from the negative in the traditional wet darkroom on fiber based, high quality photographic paper and toned for archival quality. They may also be offered as Phatte Black inkjet prints (giclee) using archival pigmented ink sets on cotton rag watercolor papers. Color images may be printed on Fuji Crystal Archive glossy color paper or on an appropriate watercolor paper as giclee prints. All large prints (greater than 10x10 inches) are made in editions of 25 and often in two sizes that may vary according to how I feel the image should be prepared. Sizes will be approximate and depend on the image format. Smaller prints may be open editioned. Prices can be found next to the opening image in each Portfolio or next to individual images. Prices rise as an edition sells out.
All prints are signed and titled in pencil on the back or on the white margin if a giclee is ordered. Orders are only fulfilled when payment is received. Turnaround time is approximately three weeks from receipt of payment but this can vary.
Framing can be carried out by special request but this is best done by the buyer since the style and color of the frame are dependent on personal taste. In the event that you do require your piece to be framed I will quote you a price. All shipped pieces will have black metal frames and UV plexiglass for lighter weight and to prevent breakage or will be mounted onto aluminum sheet and spray lacquered. Although every care will be taken to ensure tasteful framing there can be no returns allowed once framing has been done.
I accept Paypal for online purchases or, if you prefer, mail me a check or money order describing the print and print size you require. Checks must clear before the print order is fulfilled. Add $12.95 for packaging and shipping and tax which is 7.6% but only for those who live in Colorado.
